According to the Chinese ferroalloy network statistics, in the list of qualified export ferroalloy enterprises from Commerce Department, Sichuan provience only have sixteen enterprises. It is in fact that they could not export ferroalloy even if they have the license.
From the exterior to see, Chinese ferroalloy confront the severe challenge in international market. The project of ferro silicon and silicon manganese in Malaysia to some extent seize share of chinese ferroalloy in international market. Compared to the freight, Chinese inland districts produce ferroalloy products, the freight to Shanghai port is more than four hundred yuan per metric ton, but the freight from Malaysia to Shanghai port is only twenty US. dollars. Moreover, on the cost of production, the electricity price in Malaysia is  20% lower than the lowest price of China. The cost of production and freight are all have great advantage compared to the Chinese ferroalloy.
Recently, India's ferroalloy production expanding have an impact on Chinese ferroalloy.  Even depending on its lower price of ferroalloy explored the Chinese market.  Zimbabwe, Zambia, Oman and other African countries' ferrochrome project are expending. Ferrochrome production capacity expansion to the influence of the Chinese ferrochrome market may gradually appear in the coming years, Chinese import of ferrochrome will be faced a greater challenge.
